Area of application
The TRD 4 is suitable for the measurement of density and percentage of dot area of both - films and printed monochromatic papers. It is mainly used by graphic designers and illustrators and printing shops.

Short instrument description
The reading arm contains 4 switches. One of those serves to set the 100% (max. black) value for reflection measurement. The switch „T/R“ changes between reflection and transmission measurement while the switch "MODE" toggles the display between log. density and percentage of dot area. Four LED´s show the selected mode.
While measuring the dot area, a press of the switch 'MIN' resets the display to zero while a press of the switch 'MAX' sets the display to 100% .
The resolution of log.D. display is 0.01, while the resolution of percentage display is 0.1%.
